Slick08 Art Fair (Paris)

Description

In October 2008, the Slick Contemporary Art Fair invited Art Radio to streamcast and broadcast from its exhibition space in the newly renovated 104 in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. Our radio team, in partnership with the renowned French radio station Radio Nova, collected interviews on site and around town during the week of FIAC and other art fairs. Included in the programs are a variety of eminent cultural figures such as the artist Daniel Buren, the Paris Deputy Mayor in Charge of Culture Christophe Girard, the author and Sorbonne Professor François Aubral, the Dena Foundation president and collector Giuliana Setari, the filmmaker Ariane Michel, and the fashion designer Adeline André. En Octobre 2008, Slick invita Art Radio à s'installer au coeur du nouveau centre de création et de production artistiques, le 104, pour suivre en direct l'actualité de la foire et de la scène artistique pendant la semaine de l'art contemporain à Paris. En collaboration avec Radio Nova, l'équipe d'Art Radio diffusa rencontres, débats, et interviews de la foire Slick et au-delà. Parmis d'autres, retrouvez des discussions avec l'artiste Daniel Buren, l'adjoint au maire de Paris chargé de la culture Christophe Girard, l'auteur et professeur à la Sorbonne François Aubral, la collectionneuse et présidente de la Dena Foundation Giuliana Setari, la cinéaste Ariane Michel, et la créatrice Adeline André. Les Cocottes Band du Transversal

David Weinstein guides us through a performance by Le Transversal, the nomadic restaurant headed by Gilles Stassart, at the 2008 Slick Art Fair. In the performance, called Les Cocottes Band and made in partnership with appliance consortium Groupe SEB, musicians play with, from and around a dozen cooking pots, an idea inspired by Boris Vian’s Pianococktail. The performance brings together the worlds of cooking, music and contemporary art. In English (9 minutes).
