The Dangerous Book Four Boys, the first solo exhibition of James Franco, is now on view at AIR's Clocktower Gallery at 108 Leonard St. in downtown Manhattan, Tuesday-Friday from 12pm-5pm, through September.
AIR and the Clocktower Gallery will be closed Monday, September 6th.
Marja Samsom, the self-described "Dumpling Diva" and Executive Chef and owner of The Kitchen Club and Chibi's Bar, has brought all of her pots and pans into the AIR kitchen, where she will cook all her most alluring, signature dishes and provide you with any help you need to make them yourself. Once a performance artist based out of Amsterdam, Samsom thrives on the act; you could ask for no more informed and inviting a culinary guide than Samsom, whose Euro-Asian fusion creations have made her one of the most respected and exciting chefs in New York. So turn up the volume, turn on the oven and tune in.

Summer Salads: Strawberry Season First broadcast June 11, 2010
With strawberry season upon us, Marja Samsom sets upon making a couple of fragarically-inclined summer salads, and she carries us along gently under her wing. Tales of friends, bike rides, late breakfasts and other appropriately summery things abound in this leisurely lesson in seasonal indulgence. As the course turns to strawberry flambé, talk turns to the myriad meanings of ignation (20 minutes).
Marja Samsom steps into her elegiac element by recalling the life of her beloved restaurant The Kitchen Club, resurrecting for one final, spirited breath the singular space which, since its closure on its twentieth anniversary, has left an irreparable lacuna in New York's underground and experimental food scene. She discusses the allure of European-Japanese fusion food, white tablecloths and beer and wine licenses to the inhabitants of the just-burgeoning, recently rechristened NoLIta. A poignant tribute to the much-missed New York institution and an invigorating affirmation of the resilience of the mind behind it. But fear not, listeners: Samsom, as always, has been fast on to bigger, better, smaller, wider, odder and more curious things (9 minutes).
Marja Samsom wants you to enjoy your dessert, but not without first having your fill of nutritious mousse lore. You might as well prepare your oven and cooking supplies now, while you can, because nothing else in this short class can be expected (15 minutes).
Marja Samsom offers a step-by-step explanation of her process for making mushroom dumplings while she cooks them live, for you, in the AIR kitchen. Along the way she'll treat you to telling anecdotes about the history of the dumpling and discuss her lifelong obsession with them. This is Marja's first show for AIR, so let it be known: a culinary force to be reckoned with has just hit the airwaves (11 minutes).
